Jordan arrived at goodcounsel in August 2017 as an experienced tech startup and venture capital lawyer. Most recently, Jordan practiced in the tech startup and M&A groups at Fenwick & West in San Francisco (2014 to 2017) and in the private equity and M&A groups of Kirkland & Ellis in New York (2010 to 2014). He has worked on deals of all shapes and sizes, including company-side and investor-side representions across VC financings, PE investments and all types of acquisitions/divestitures, several involving blue chip clients (including Uber, Grail, and Samsara, among others). Jordan has been equally enthralled by the role of day-to-day counselor on legal issues of critical importance to small, growing and established private companies, from commercial contracts to IP/licensing to employment/compensation and beyond. In 2017, Jordan was named to Super Lawyers' list of Rising Stars for Business/Corporate practice in Northern California.
Jordan came to goodcounsel because he loves working with startups and believes in goodcounsel's mission to make the practice of startup law more innovative, more cost-efficient, and more automated. He believes that Chicago and the Midwest have the potential to become America's next great startup hub. More than anything, Jordan embraces the challenge to help entrepreneurs and their backers take the next big thing from dream to reality.
When he's not working, Jordan's passions are sports, politics, travel, and most importantly, his wife and two young kids.
